Barco expands medical display portfolio
Barco showed an expanded portfolio of new family of clinical review displays at the 94th annual meeting of the Radiological Society of the North America (RSNA) in Chicago.

The MDRC line answers to the demand for visualizing DICOM-compliant images and patient information beyond the radiology department, Barco said. The MDRC series comes in a 20-inch color screen with 2 megapixel (MP) resolution (MDRC-2120) and a 19-inch color version with 1 MP resolution (MDRC-1119). The MDRC-1119 can be fitted with a touchscreen interface. Both models are equipped with LDCs that present medical images with high contrast and a wide viewing angle. An integrated DICOM part 14 Look-Up Table (10-bit) assures clear grayscales and ‘DICOM-out-of-the-box’ imaging. The displays feature Barco’s Backlight Output Stabilization technology, which stabilizes the luminance of the LCD backlight. The display line is bundled with MediCal QAWeb software for DICOM calibration and Quality Assurance. The Backlight Output Stabilization with the power-saving mode automatically switches off the display when not being used. Both versions are available for commercial distribution.

Barco also highlighted its Barco Coronis Fusion 6MP DL system at the show. It features a 30-inch workspace with no center bezel, enabling radiologists to organize their desktop as one widescreen 6MP or two 3MP displays, in grayscale or color, for full diagnostic detail. Coronis Fusion 6MP DL also includes Barco’s MediCal QAWeb software and a five-year warranty to reduce unscheduled downtime.
