At ACC 2007 in New Orleans, EMC discussed the benefits of jointly using McKesson’s Horizon Cardiology information system in conjunction with EMC’s hardware and software. The use of these systems together can enable facilities of any size to integrate cardiovascular reports, images, waveforms, and measurements into a unified EMR.

The EMC systems offer ways for organizations to utilize tiered-network storage platforms that offer information lifecycle management capabilities. Specifically, the EMC CLARiiON CX offers networked storage; Celerra NAS IP provided scalable storage that can grow as your data grows; the Centera content-addressed storage provides long-term storage for cardiac cath, echo, nuclear, vascular, and ECG; and the company’s Symmentrix DMX helps facilities integrate their applications.
