BIOTRONIK nets EU clearance for cardiac home monitoring system
BIOTRONIK has received CE Mark approval for its newest generation of its home monitoring system, which uses a traffic light system to identify patients with the relevant events.

The company said its internet-based, remote monitoring system uses the GSM telephone network, which is available across its entire product portfolio of pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices, allowing physicians to remotely monitor their patients’ clinical and device status.

The Berlin-based BIOTRONIK said its home monitoring has integrated a traffic-light, severity-based display of patients’ status to identify the most important information with one click. The system provides a continuously updated and consolidated online CardioReport, which includes physicians’ acknowledgements and review actions to minimize alert notifications.
