Ziehm Imaging, a mobile imaging services provider, and BrainLAB, a manufacturer of software-driven systems for less-invasive medical treatments, have formed a marketing and development agreement for the integration of mobile 3D C-arms and computer assisted surgery (CAS).

In 2002, Ziehm and BrainLAB jointly developed DICOM-based CAS on 2D fluoroscopic images. Now, they hope to establish a full compatibility of Vario 3D and Vision 3D, Ziehm's C-arms, with the mobile BrainLAB platforms for 3D intra-operative imaging, according to the German-based companies.
