Working with its eighth generation of detectors is helping Canon Medical Systems meet its goal of delivering high image quality. Canon demonstrated its array of DR solutions at RSNA 2006 last week. The new Canon CXDI-50C portable DR system features a 14x17–inch image area with the LANMIT detector technology. The Canon CXDI-40EC DR system is equipped with a 17x17-inch imaging area to capture a wider range of image sizes without the need to adjust detector orientation.
Canon also showcased its DR sensors, which have exceeded 3,800 installations worldwide. With 40 to 50 percent of the company’s business being retrofitting, Canon’s sensors can retrofit to almost any new or existing equipment for a cost-effective solution.
The company’s DR Image Viewer software offers a user-friendly interface and takes communication between system another step with more direct communication not just with a RIS but also between a RIS and HIS. Program mode helps technologists work efficiently by displaying an exam list and only the applicable tool buttons.
