Carestream Health Inc. and Hitachi Data Systems unveiled plans to co-market a data management system designed to enable healthcare organizations to archive clinically relevant information from multiple systems in their facilities. The system makes use of Carestream Health’s Versatile Intelligent Patient Archive (VIParchive) and the recently enhanced Hitachi Content Archive Platform. 

The joint system is being offered to help control and manage the amount of new healthcare-related information being created, distributed, and stored digitally, the companies said.

Carestream Health’s VIParchive is a software platform that can take clinical information from multiple healthcare sources and consolidate the information in an intelligent archive. Hitachi’s archive platform gives organizations a way to satisfy regulatory and corporate governance mandates and provides rapid access to archived data when needed. The system offers automated policy management to ensure content authenticity and retention, along with tools for integrated indexing, search and retrieval.
