Carestream, Munich university develop new DR technology
Carestream Health has developed the Kodak Directview DR 9500 platform, in collaboration with the Klinikum Rechts der Isar der Technischen Universität München.

The new system, which became available in March, is setting new standards in flexibility, mobility and speed in hospitals in Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and France, according to Carestream.

Carestream and the university worked as development partners in the mainstream production of the Kodak Directview DR 9500 system. The university tested a prototype of the system during routine clinical procedures and provided operational feedback.

The DR system features three operator interfaces to minimize the need for radiographers to move during imaging exams. The ceiling-mounted U-arm tube and detector, combined with multiple operator interfaces, equips the single-detector system to perform exams that normally require dual detectors, Carestream said.
