Carestream spotlights new PACS features
Carestream Health demonstrated new features for its PACS product at the 9th European Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology bi-annual meeting this week.

The PACS innovations include a new image fusion application for PET/CT imaging and enhancements to native real-time 3D capabilities, according to Carestream.

The firm is showcasing its Image Fusion software for enhanced visualization of cancerous tumors and lesions. The application automatically overlays and registers image data from PET/CT systems, allowing oncologists better visualization of anatomic and metabolic information to more confidently assess tumor volumes and disease progression, Carestream said.

The company is also demonstrating new native real-time 2D and 3D capabilities including maximum intensity projection, minimum intensity projection, multiplanar reconstruction, volume rendering, tissue definition and vessel tracking functionality from a single virtual desktop.
