CC&M, Zvetco provide secure access to patient info at West Tennessee Healthcare
Computer Consultants & Merchants Inc. (CC&M) and Zvetco Biometrics of Orlando. Fla., have deployed an integrated biometric security system at West Tennessee Healthcare.

The Jackson, Tennessee-based healthcare system has implemented at six hospitals and satellite medical facilities CC&M's Trusted Space software, which includes a private label version of Zvetco's Verifi fingerprint readers using TruePrint technology.

The TS system ensures that only authorized users are provided access to patient information. It also provides security to system users by allowing them to sign-on once to multiple applications with a single finger touch.

West Tennessee Healthcare has been using the Trusted Space biometric software for several years to secure clinical data on both public and private workstations by accurately authenticating the identities of medical, administrative and other staff using fingerprint scans. Over the past year, the provider has been replacing its older optical fingerprint scanners with new digital Verifi fingerprint readers.

The provider now has switched to the smaller, USB-connected devices that provide faster login and more accurate enrollment in the authentication process. To date, West Tennessee Healthcare has implemented 400 of the devices.
