The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) is in the process of reviewing ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) applications. The commission is also scheduling test dates for the second round of product certification.

CCHIT will post to its website documents related to phase II of its work, which includes updated ambulatory EHR criteria and the initial proposed criteria for inpatient EHR certification. The material will be posted Sept. 25. More: www.cchit.org

An announcement regarding which EHR systems will receive certified will be made in late October.
