CoActiv Medical showcased its digital archive and storage product EXAM-Vault at SCAR, which is a separate and stand-alone DICOM storage option.  The EXAM-Vault features the 'Quad-Redundant' system which is built to allow hospitals, imaging centers and private specialty practices to integrate to an existing PACS or directly to DICOM modalities. Affordability is one of the system's key benefits, CoActiv said, and should help organizations seeking to upgrade their existing archive structure without reinventing their entire PACS enterprise, and also can serve healthcare facilities seeking to securely store DICOM images without installing a full PACS solution.

Highlighted features include the 'Quad-Redundant' storage capability that automatically and securely saves every exam in four locations, with three of the locations providing instant online access; the secure archive centers are housed in class A data centers with multi-terabyte RAID storage; the archive centers are manned by qualified technical staff on a 24x7 basis; and the archive servers are continually monitored by a dual-level monitoring software that reports, CoActiv said.
