Dossia on verge of rolling out portable health records
The non-profit consortium Dossia is progressing toward the development of private, portable and secure health records for the employees, their dependents and retirees for its two founding members, AT&T and sanofi-aventis.

The Dossia Founders Group includes Applied Materials, BP America, Cardinal Health, Intel, Pitney Bowes and Wal-Mart to create a web-based system that will give employees access to their personal health data. Dossia is also collaborating with Children’s Hospital Boston to add the records to the hospital.

The consortium plans to roll out the benefit to company employees in late 2007.
