Eclipsys shows upgraded Sunrise RIS
Eclipsys Corp. presented the latest version of its Sunrise RIS (radiology information system) at the recent RSNA meeting in Chicago.

Sunrise RIS now includes tools for radiologists, technologists, transcriptionists and clerks, with a redesigned module for diagnostic reports generation. The customizable user interface includes a dashboard view of all of a patient's clinical information, including links to view images for all current and prior exams. The tool also provides radiologists the option between integrated speech recognition, MP3-based digital dictation and structured textual reporting. Radiologists can now also annotate diagrams and key images and include them within the final diagnostic reports, the company said.

Sunrise RIS now also supports document generation and management, scanner support, and markup diagrams. The system is web-based and provides securely data management from any location.

As part of Eclipsys Diagnostic Imaging Solutions, Sunrise RIS can be integrated with the Sunrise clinical suite's Sunrise PACS, powered by Sectra, the company said.
