EIZO launches 2MP LCD monitor
EIZO Nanao Technologies introduced its RadiForce RX211, a new 2 megapixel (1200 x 1600 native resolution) color LCD monitor at the 2008 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) conference in Seattle.

The current trend in the field is for people to use color as well as monochromatic images, Joey Sanchez, marketing coordinator for EIZO, told Health Imaging News. The RadiForce RX211 allows the viewing of both color and monochrome images on one monitor.

This monitor “is different in terms of brightness from our previous monitors –750 cd/m2 brightness,” Sanchez said. Also, the contrast ratio of 1100:1 is on par with monochromatic monitors, making the RX211 convenient for displaying both color and monochrome images compliant with DICOM part 14 standard, according to Sanchez. “This alleviates the need of having to go back and forth between monitors, allowing for one solution,” he added.

For the first time for a 2MP monitor, the company is offering a five-year warranty that will be valid in every country where an EIZO subsidiary or distributor is located, Sanchez said.

The Cypress, Calif.-based company also said that it incorporates its latest application specific integrated circuit into the RadiForce RX211, containing a digital uniformity equalizer function to compensation for luminance non-uniformity, characteristic of all LCD panels.
