Elekta highlights new neuro systems
Radiotherapy device and information systems developer Elekta is demonstrating new offerings in its neurosurgical diagnostic and treatment device portfolio at the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies annual congress taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, this week.

The Stockholm, Sweden-based company is displaying its Leksell SurgiPlan, image-based neurosurgical planning software, and GammaPlan PFX, a treatment planning system with remote capabilities for the firm’s Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion. Both systems are now using the Linux operating system, Elekta said.

Elekta is also exhibiting its Neuromag, a device for performing magnetoencephalography. The technology is used routinely for pre-surgical mapping and epilepsy investigations as well as in clinical research.
