Emdeon considers sale of business units
Emdeon Corp. last week announced that it has decided to consider selling its Business Services and Practice Services segments. The company said the move is in response to a number of third parties expressing interest in acquiring the divisions. However, the sale will not include Emdeon’s ViPS business unit, the company said.

Emdeon claims that it cannot assure investors that a sale of the businesses will actually occur, as the company’s board may well retain them.

In related news, the company has amended its current Tax Sharing Agreement with WebMD Health Corp. to compensate WebMD for possible net operating losses that could be seen from the sale of the business units.
