Ethidium acquires VLink health information exchange
Clinical information management software and services developer Ethidium Health Systems of Huntington Valley, Pa., reported that has acquired exclusive ownership of the VLink health information exchange from Vaceris of Mclean, Va. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ethidium said that the acquisition of VLink enables it to offer regional health information organizations, independent physician associations, hospitals and payors a cross-vendor, open standards-based solution for sharing clinical information using web technology.

VLink is a framework for connecting distributed health information systems and is fully integrated with many leading electronic medical records and practice management systems, according to Ethidium.
