ETIAM announced receiving 510(k) clearance from the FDA for a comprehensive line of DICOM software components that enable scalable departmental PACS solutions. The announcement was made at the recent RSNA meeting in Chicago. These three components were included in the FDA clearance:

• DICOM Izer is used for capturing and converting still and video images, and supports multiple sources such as cameras and film digitizers. This application retrieves billing and patient information and outputs configurable DICOM objects to multiple destinations;
• DICOM StaR provides departmental storage, intelligent routing and on-line access to images and video files from a web browser or DICOM viewer; and
• OPEN LiteBox, is a multi-modality enterprise DICOM image viewer with powerful navigation, manipulation and reconciliation features.
