Maquet Cardiovascular has received a CE mark for its Fusion Bioline vascular graft, indicated for use in peripheral artery disease patients.

The vascular graft is constructed of two layers—an inner layer of polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) and an outer layer of PET knit polyester textile. The two-layer design, which is fused together with a polycarbonate-urethane adhesive, helps with axial compliance for handling, high suture retention strength and less suture hole bleeding.

In addition, the device has a bioline coating that holds the anticoagulant properties of heparin and helps reduce clotting activating and platelet adhesion and thrombi creation.
