FDA clears EOS Imaging’s Micro Dose feature

EOS Imaging has announced that its Micro Dose feature for pediatric imaging has been cleared by the FDA and is now available on its orthopedic 2D/3D x-ray imaging system.

The company said the feature is designed with the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle in mind, and will benefit those with orthopedic conditions that require frequent imaging exams and pediatric patients who are particularly sensitive to radiation exposure. Study results have shown the Micro Dose feature generates dosage levels equivalent to a week of naturally-occurring background radiation in pediatric patients receiving 2D and 3D follow-up examinations, according to EOS Imaging.
