FDA clears Paramed open MRI
Paramed Medical Systems has received FDA approval for its MRopen, a cryogen-free, superconductive MRI system.

The system uses a cable made from MgB2 (Magnesium Diboride), an alloy with superconductive characteristics at temperatures that can be reached with a traditional cooling system (cryo-cooler), according to the North Andover, Mass.-based company.

The MRopen employs an open-air, U-shaped design.
