FDA clears Siemens' Advanced Bone Removal application
The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for Siemens Medical Solutions' Advanced Bone Removal, an application of the company's syngo InSpace 4D program.

The syngo InSpace 4D program's 'One Click Bone Removal' feature allows a physician to quickly remove bone structures from CT and MR large datasets which occur in multislice CT. Once removed, the two-dimensional images can be interactively reviewed which assists physicians in diagnosing vascular problems, Siemens said.

Other features include a user-friendly interface that reduces processing times during bone segmentation, and has the ability to only show bone structures which makes it applicable for bone work as well, Siemens said.
