Eastman Kodak has received FDA approval for enhancements to its mammography computer-aided detection (CAD) system. New software for the KODAK Mammography CAD System increases the system's sensitivity to microcalcification clusters while reducing the number of false positive markers.

The company first introduced the CAD system late last year and this is the first upgrade. Existing Kodak customers will receive software upgrades as part of the standard one-year warranty, the company said.
