FDA OKs Swissray digital x-ray system for trauma
Swissray International, Inc. announced that the FDA granted approval for its ddR Combi Trauma on Wednesday. The new system images trauma patients from head to toe, AP and lateral, without requiring their movement. Features include a fixed table with elevating base, four-way floating top and automatic detector positioning for cross table imaging with the push of button on a wireless handheld remote control. ddR Combi Trauma offers a minimum time between exposure of two seconds and exposure to diagnostic image time of five seconds to enable immediate review for trauma patients.

Ueli Laupper, senior vice president global sales and marketing, adds, "The system incorporates new 16- bit detector technology that increases gray levels to more than 65,000, improving image quality and soft tissue detection." The 16-bit technology is available on all Swissray DR systems.
