McKesson Corporation reported revenues for fiscal Q3 of $23.1 billion, an increase of four percent from $22.2 billion in Q3 a year ago. Q3 net income was $243 million, up 26 percent from $193 million a year ago; and income from continuing operations was $240 million, up 18 percent from $204 million a year ago, the company said.

Results by segment included:
  • Pharmaceutical Solutions revenues up three percent for Q3 compared to same period a year ago. The segment’s gross profit of $671 million reflected a five percent rise from $642 million a year ago. Pharmaceutical Solutions operating expenses were down 1 percent from a year ago, and operating profit of $338 million were up 11 percent compared to $305 million a year ago;
  • Medical-Surgical Solutions segment revenues of $632 million were up 16 percent in Q3 compared to a year ago. Gross profit as a percentage of revenues was 27.5 percent compared to 26.3 percent, and operating expenses increased 27 percent. Operating profit in Q3 was $25 million compared to $26 million; and
  • In Provider Technologies, revenues for Q3 were $451 million, up 12 percent compared to a year ago, driven primarily by a 20 percent increase in services revenues. Software and software systems revenues grew just one percent. Operating expenses were up 17 percent in the quarter due primarily to acquisitions completed earlier in the year and continued investments in new product development and sales force expansion. Operating profit was up five percent to $40 million.


Mercury Computer Systems reported fiscal Q2 revenues of $57.9 million, a decrease of seven percent from the prior year and a sequential increase of 18 percent from Q1. Q2 GAAP operating losses were $7.5 million, while GAAP net losses were $1.0 million. Q2 non-GAAP operating losses were $2.3 million, and non-GAAP net income was $0.2 million.
