First MRI-guided focused ultrasound meeting to convene
The Focused Ultrasound Surgery Foundation will host the first MR-guided focused ultrasound surgery (MRgFUS) International Symposium Oct. 6-7 in Washington, D.C., to focus on the current and future uses of MRgFUS.

Currently, the surgery is used to treat a variety of serious medical conditions including cancer, neurological disorders and uterine fibroids, according to the foundation.

The symposium will feature more than 75 clinicians, scientists and engineers from more than 12 countries, to discuss the latest research, current and future clinical applications, and practical issues related to adoption including best practices, training and reimbursement.
