Fujifilm opts out of 2009 SIIM conference
Fujifilm Medical Systems USA announced that it will not be exhibiting at the 2009 Society of Imaging and Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) Annual Meeting in Charlotte, N.C., this June.

The company said its decision was made as part of an overall "evaluation of expenditures in these current economic times, and the determination to focus on maintaining the highest level of product development and customer service."

"Today all companies are evaluating their operations, and this decision regarding SIIM was certainly difficult to make," said Randy Nagel, Fujifilm's director of corporate communications. "By diverting resources such as those allocated to this year's SIIM exhibit, our goal is to continue our strong investment in product innovation, customer service and product support; areas that we believe our customers will reap the most benefits from investment."

Fujifilm was the first corporate member of SIIM, which was then known as the Society for Computed Applications in Radiology (SCAR).
