Fujifilm Medical Systems has reported that its Digital Radiography (DR) AcSelerate system has been cleared by the FDA and will now be made available for sale in the U.S.

The FDR AcSelerate--an automated digital table and upright system--uses a direct image capture technology and design elements that will help imaging departments, said the Stamford, Conn.-based company. The system also has dose reduction capabilities, including a dose area product meter for physicians to monitor patient dose per exam and total dose per study.
