GE Healthcare sees jump in first quarter 2006 profits
GE Healthcare has reported profits from Q1 2006 were up 21 percent, with operating income for the quarter coming in at $496 million, up from $409 million during the same period last year. Revenues for the business unit were $3.66 billion which is a 10 percent jump compared to the same quarter in 2005 when the company saw $3.32 billion in revenues.

Generally speaking, GE is doing well. Five of the company’s business units – GE Healthcare included – have seen double digit improvements in earnings. GE’s outlook for the remainder of the year is strong with the company’s earnings expected to climb 13 to 17 percent.
