GE Healthcare shows AW app
GE Healthcare demonstrated the capabilities of its Centricity Imaging AW Suite 2 (Advantage Workstation) that works in combination with Centricity Imaging PACS at HIMSS 2007 in New Orleans. The application offers advanced image visualization tools for various modalities including CT, PET, MR, x-ray, vascular, mammography.

Centricity AW Suite 2 also offers five optional modules such as CardIQ (Cardiology), Advanced Lung Analysis (Oncology), Advanced Vessel Analysis (Cardiovascular), Autobone and CT Colonography. The addition of these modules digitizes the diagnostic process providing a means to manage large complex sets of patient data.

Additionally, radiologists no longer have to move between workstations to view and manipulate interactive volumetric data sets. Specific tools for CT, MR, PET/CT and x-Ray are now fully enabled on any networked PACS PC, with the benefits of 3D imaging.

Usability is also an important feature, and the software includes a number of improvements over previous tools by allowing users to customize review steps and workflow. The software can also be synchronized with a RIS.

Additionally, the applications is able to automatically perform segmentation of bony structures in the head, neck, abdomen and lower extremities to help to identify vessels as well as exclusive calcification removal. VolumeShare 2 also features other new applications such as CardIQ Fusion, CardIQ Physio, and CT Perfusion 4.0.
