HHS contracts with AHIMA, EHI and HIMSS for state-level data exchanges
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a new contract with the American Health Information Management Association's (AHIMA) Foundation of Research and Education (FORE) that will allow state leaders to participate in health information exchange and share best practices. The contract builds on the work produced by FORE and includes subcontracts with two additional organizations: eHealth Initiative (eHI) and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

This collaboration with key organizations allows state and regional health information exchange leaders to share successful practices and offer guidance in an effort to combat rising health care costs and help support the progress of a nationwide network of networks to revolutionize health care.
