If you’re in health IT, it’s likely you’re headed to Orlando, Fla., this month for the annual meeting of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society. HIMSS launched MyHIMSS08, an online filtering tool, which allows attendees to explore educational sessions, and potential products and services that exclusively match their area of interest or job role prior to conference. Simply select an area of interest or job role from the list of categories on the HIMSS08 homepage, himssconference.org. After one mouse-click, MyHIMSS08 creates a customized conference agenda.

Returning is the Interoperability Showcase, the interactive HIMSS health information exchange (HIE)-based environment. The showcase highlights the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) common framework for delivering interoperability across local, regional and national health exchanges, offering real-world clinical scenarios enabled by the standards-based IHE framework. Attendees can trace their own personalized medical record.
