HIMSS: eClinicalWorks expands EMR deployment options
At HIMSS10 in Atlanta last week, eClinicalWorks announced on-demand deployment of its EMR management mobile system or any other add-on products.

The products can be deployed directly from the EMR or downloaded from the web site, according to eClinicalWorks' spokesperson Heather Caouette. During the last seven years, eClinicalWorks has widened its focus from smaller patient practices to include large, enterprise accounts for EMR management.

eClinicalWorks offers a client/server-based approach or a software-as-a-service EMR model, Caouette said. Physicians select the model they prefer--some want a server in their office; others prefer to have the company host their information on one of eClinicalWorks’ 10 nationwide data centers.

“Our focus is always what the customers want and the offers that work for them,” she noted.

eClinicalWorks' products are guaranteed to meet the new meaningful use requirements, and the company is focused on educating its customers on how to use the technology in a way that appropriately meets these requirements, said Caouette.

eClincalWorks developed the latest version of its software, version 8, with the New York City Department of Health. This product meets meaningful use criteria and has been distributed to its clients, said the company.

In addition to training via webinars, the Westborough, Mass.-based company offers assessments for existing customers. “It will tell you in percentages how ready you are for meaningful use, what areas you need to work on and what you already have down,” explained Caouette. The company also offers onsite assessments by eClincalWorks trainers.
