Hitachi showcases 1.5T MRI with new channel packages
Hitachi displayed its high field 1.5T Echelon MRI system with new 8 and 16 channel packages at the 94th annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago last week.

The company said that its Echelon XL delivers high-field clinical utility with an 8 channel radiofrequency (RF) system that can be upgraded to 16 channels. The Echelon XLS includes a 16 channel RF system and 16 channel anatomically specific coils that deliver faster dynamic and conventional imaging results.

The Echelon 1.5T allows meets the demands of MR imaging from advanced neurology and vascular applications to complete body and orthopedic imaging, according to a Hitachi spokesperson.

The Echelon includes a 33/150 gradient system, Hoast for RF fat saturation even in large field of view, Radar motion compensation for free-breathing abdominal studies, and Rapid for faster dynamic imaging. Another feature to the Echelon 1.5T is feet-first positioning for all scans assuring patient comfort and high throughput.
