HITSP looks for comments on latest EHR standards documents
Interoperability standards group, the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP), has opened a four-week comment period for two requirements, design and standards selection (RDSS) documents. The documents are being developed as a basis for the second round of interoperability specifications the panel will deliver to the American Health Information Community (AHIC) later this year.

The RDSS documents define the requirements and design for the specifications and candidate standards for the AHIC-identified use cases for emergency responder EHRs, in addition to security and privacy capabilities.

The documents include: Security and Privacy Capabilities for the Version 2.0 Biosurveillance EHR-Lab and Consumer Empowerment Use Cases; and Emergency Responder Electronic Health Record (ER-EHR) Use Case

HITSP is encouraging members and healthcare stakeholders to review the RDSS documents and to register for the HITSP automated tracking system to record comments.
