Hologic books record Q3
Women’s imaging vendor Hologic of Bedford, Mass., reported record earnings and revenue for its 2007 fiscal third quarter (end-June 30). In addition the company said that it saw a record 328 Selenia full-field digital mammography (FFDM) systems installed and recognized as revenue for the period.

Third quarter fiscal 2007 revenues totaled $191.5 million, a 60 percent increase when compared with revenues of $119.7 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2006. For the period, Hologic reported net income of $24.7 million, a more than 100 percent increase compared with net income of $12 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2006.

The firm attributed the strong third quarter numbers to an increase in product sales of its Selenia FFDM systems.

Also, Hologic noted that included in the current quarter's results are the operations of  AEG Elektrofotografie acquired on May 2, 2006; R2 Technology, acquired on July 13, 2006; and Suros Surgical Systems, acquired on July 27, 2006.
