HRSA grant bestowed on Minnesota health system for EHR implementation
U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has granted $1.6 million to the Lac qui Parle Health Network to assist with its EHR system deployment.

Lac qui Parle consists of Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson, Appleton Area Health Services and Madison Lutheran Home, which are all critical access hospitals and located in Minnesota.

The HRSA grant, which is funneled through the Minnesota Health Department, is one of 16 grants distributed to rural health offices in order to assist communities with critical access hospitals exchange healthcare information.

Previously, Lac qui Parle had received a $40,000 e-health planning grant in 2006 to begin readying itself to apply for the federal grant.
