Imaging Dynamics Company (IDC) highlighted the benefits of new X Series DR (digital radiography) systems at SIIM 2007 in Providence, R.I., last week. IDC's X-Series of direct capture technology replaces conventional film-based X-rays and provides a cost-effective alternative to cassette based film or computed radiography (CR) systems.

The upgrades to the new X Series technology, improvements on the company’s current Xplorer DR system, include greater dose efficiency, anti-blooming image technology for greater efficiency, and new image processing algorithms.

The new X Series systems will be formally introduced in July.
