IMPAC to make radiotherapy more efficient with oncology PACS
IMPAC Medical Systems (an Elekta company) showcased its MOSAIQ Oncology PACS at the Annual American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) meeting in Philadelphia this week. The system – which will be available come the end of November – is part of the company’s MOSAIQ system which serves as an electronic medical record for oncology management. This latest PACS addition has been designed to help oncology departments manage the increasing volumes of data generated in radiotherapy applications and is integrated with the EMR functions. In this way, the system can help clinicians to archive, retrieve and manage information needed for IGRT techniques independently, the company said.

MOSAIQ Oncology PACS is standards-based and DICOM-compatible so that it can work with any compliant device. The system has its own internal storage so it can function independently at free-standing facilities, or it can function as middleware between a department and a hospital’s PACS, IMPAC said.
