Industry News: AHRA; Misys; New market report on 3D imaging
The American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) announced that 46.81 percent of the radiology administrators who took the 2006 Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) exam received passing scores. There are currently 550 certified radiology administrators nationwide, the organization said. AHRA has announced dates for next year’s CRA exam on March 3, 2007, at 125 different CompUSA locations. Applications are due on Jan. 29.


The Misys Center for Community Health Leadership made its first Advisory Board appointments. The Advisory Board’s mission is to promote widespread adoption of electronic health records on a community level. Michael Fleming, MD, a family physician and former president of the American Academy of Family Physicians, will chair the Advisory Board. Additional Board members include Janet Marchibroda, MBA, CEO, eHealth Initiative and Foundation; David Merritt, project director, Center for Health Transformation; Blackford Middleton, MD, MPH, MSc, corporate director of clinical informatics research & development, chairman of the Center for IT Leadership at Partners Healthcare System, and assistant professor of medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School; and Theodore F. Wiegand, MBA, executive director, Hillcrest Management Services Organization.
