Industry news: Next IHE Connectathon on the way
The eighth annual Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Connectathon is just around the corner. To be held in Chicago Jan. 15-19, 2007, the event will feature 75 leading healthcare IT companies testing how well their healthcare applications share patient information. This is an important step toward interoperability that will streamline the flow of clinical information across the entire healthcare continuum and speed implementation of a truly connected health system, IHE said. This year’s event is sponsored by Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and American College of Cardiology (ACC). The event focuses on educating healthcare organizations, health information exchanges (such as RHIOs), government contracting decision makers and other end users on interoperability and information sharing. It includes presentations and panel discussions by key leaders in deploying national health information networks.
