Industry round-up: CareTech, NeST, Toshiba
CareTech Solutions has signed a comprehensive IT outsourcing contract with Wisconsin’s Holy Family Memorial health network which includes an in-patient facility, outpatient campus, primary and specialty care clinics and retail pharmacies serving Manitowoc County residents and employers. It is expected that the agreement will accelerate enhanced patient care initiatives for the health network and its 15 northeastern Wisconsin facilities
                                                                                                          

Japan-based Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation (TMSC) has expanded its partnership with Network Systems and Technologies (NeST). NeST is known for providing exceptional value-added software development services. The software development center’s expanded operation started out with 30 engineers in 2002, but will gain more than 400 software professionals by the end of 2007, the company said.
 

Roger L. (Vern) Davenport has been appointed to executive vice president and general manager at Misys Healthcare Systems in Raleigh, N.C.. Davenport has 25 years of experience in the healthcare IT market, previously working for Eastman Kodak Company as chief operating officer of Healthcare Information Solutions, and holding various senior positions at Siemens Medical Solutions after its acquisition of Shared Medical Systems, where Davenport was also vice president.
