InfiMed introduced its i 5 medical imaging platform and i 4 DR during the 94th annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago.
The company said its i 5 medical imaging platform is designed to support multiple modalities and detectors from a single system and adapting to existing and future technologies as next generation medical imaging capabilities become available, the company said.
The new platform will be available early in 2009 featuring i 5 fluoroscopy capabilities with additional modalities being made available through 2010. i 5 features a multifunctional Flexible Detector Architecture to offer the medical community a high level of flexibility. It can integrate with various imaging receptors, including flat-panel detectors and Charge-Couple Device cameras and provide commonality across a variety of modalities including fluoroscopy, urology, angiography and digital radiology. The system incorporates InfiVision Automatic Image Enhancement software with one-click image processing. It uses advanced image processing algorithms and applies optimal image shutters. Images can be fine-tuned using automatic image processing settings for bone, soft tissue and organs.
InfiMed launched i 4 DR, which was designed to provide a high-level image quality while reducing the amount of radiation patients and staff receive during x-ray procedures. The system incorporates InfiVision Automatic Image Enhancement software as well as advanced image processing algorithms and automatic image processing settings. Designed for OEMs, i 4 can interface with a variety of flat panel detectors, and is adaptable, upgradeable and configurable for use with next generation flat panel detectors.
