IT revenues drive Agfa Q2
Growth in healthcare information technology systems sales offset declines in the print and film sectors for Agfa HealthCare’s fiscal 2007 second quarter (end-June 30), the Mortsel, Belgium-based company reported.

The healthcare group stated second quarter revenues of 365 million euros ($503.2 million, U.S.), equivalent to the 365 million euros posted in the second quarter of fiscal 2006.

Strong sales were reported for the company’s hospital and clinical information system (ORBIS), while its radiology IT products (RIS and PACS) and CR devices also contributed to the growth. IT accounted for 35 percent of sales in the second quarter of 2007, versus 31 percent in the previous year. Together, these segments more than compensated the market-driven decline of the film and print business, Agfa said.
