Judge rules in favor of Boston Scientific in patent dispute with J&J

A Delaware judge last week upheld a 2005 jury decision in favor of Boston Scientific in a patent dispute with Johnson & Johnson. The jury decided that J&J’s drug-coated Cypher stent infringed on Boston Scientific’s “Ding” stent patent, the Boston Globe reports.

The drug-coated stent market is gigantic – with the two companies in fierce competition of the $6 billion it generates worldwide. Though J&J plans to appeal the ruling, no further hearings have been announced regarding the matter, the Boston Globe reports.
