Siemens Medical Solutions has been ranked No. 1 in the U.S. radiology market in total revenues including options, with a market share of 34 percent, according to the Klein Biomedical Consultants (KBC) 2005 annual report. The company is followed by Philips Medical Systems and GE Healthcare, respectively.

In the ultrasound radiology market, Siemens also held the No. 1 position for sales of ultrasound products in the U.S. Additionally, this is the sixth straight year that the company’s ACUSON Sequoia ultrasound platform was ranked in the top position. The results are based on 2005 sales volume.

The report also states that Siemens holds nearly 66 percent of the total U.S. ultrasound market's options and upgrade business.
