Massachusetts health network chooses IBM
CHICAGO, Nov. 28—HealthAlliance Hospital implemented IBM’s grid medical archive solution (GMAS) to make patient records available to clinicians, which IBM announced at the 93rd annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

HealthAlliance Hospital, a member of UMass Memorial Health Care, serves north-central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire with acute care facilities, a cancer center, outpatient physical therapy facilities and a remote home health agency. The hospital houses 143 beds and 21 bassinets.

According to IBM, HealthAlliance is now able to make their data available, including PACS images using its GMAS, a cross-IBM offering comprised of storage, software, servers and services. GMAS provides hospitals, clinics, research institutions and pharmaceutical companies with an automated enterprise storage archive for delivering medical images, patient records and other healthcare reference information, IBM said.
