Matrox, Eizo demonstrate products for the IT space
Matrox Graphics and Eizo Nanao Technologies shared a booth at HIMSS07 in New Orleans last week, taking advantage of the conference to showcase their jointly displayed products for the more IT and business minded within healthcare.

Matrox showcased various display controller boards designed for medical imaging running with the Matrox DualHead2Go Graphics eXpansion Module (GXM), expanding the user’s notebook or desktop computer across two digital displays, and Matrox Extio Remote Graphics Unit (RGU), enabling the extension of displays, audio and up to six USB devices by up to 250 meters.

The DualHead2Go is an external multi-display upgrade which rests outside of your system configuration and provides a completely new way to add multi-display support to notebook or desktop PCs. DualHead2Go utilizes the existing single-monitor display output (external VGA output) from the system and expands it to dual-display outputs, enabling the desktop to run fully stretched across two displays. The company also offers a TripleHead2Go.

The company’s Extio series, comprised of the F1220, F1400, and F1420, is based on multi-display RGU (remote graphics units) technology which enable the physical separation of the user interface – keyboard, mouse, monitors, audio peripherals, and graphics hardware – from the host PC at distances of up to 820 feet of fiber optic cable. By separating the PC from the user interface, Extio helps address critical issues such as security, heat, noise, system accessibility, maintenance, and support, Matrox said.

Eizo showed some of its latest displays including monochrome and color medical LCD monitors ranging from 1 MP to 5 MP designed for imaging modalities, healthcare applications, or back office environments.

EIZO showcased its FlexScan S2411W-M ideal HIS terminals and specially designed to meet the display requirements of a PACS distributed where DICOM images are desired to be displayed.

RadiForce GS310 3MP grayscale monitor. The product includes a digital uniformity equalizer (DUE), which enables compensation for luminance non-uniformity. The GS310 comes with a CAL Switch function, where calibration modes can be selected for any specific image, such as CR and CT, from the front panel buttons.

Also on display was the company's RadiForce R31 3PM color monitor.
