Matrox Graphics has launched its Digital Luminance Correction (DLC), which will be available on upcoming Matrox display controller boards designed for medical imaging.

LCD displays are unevenly illuminated from one edge to another and from the center to any edge which creates inconsistent viewing conditions across a screen and between multiple displays. Correction for this type of uneven luminance is still unavailable in many displays, said the Montreal-based company.

Matrox said it addressed this issue with DLC to enable calibration packages from display manufacturers and software developers to uniformly calibrate display luminance within industry standards.
