McKesson issues a radiology manager, new version of workstation
Dec. 6 – McKesson launched Horizon Radiology Manager and Horizon Medical Imaging 11.5 at the 93rd scientific assembly and annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) last week in Chicago.
Horizon Radiology Manager, an integrated RIS/PACS, enables streamlined radiology workflow with fewer simpler tasks and provides a complete solution for scheduling, order management, dictation/transcription and charge preparation.
Horizon Medical Imaging features improved archive storage capabilities and workstation enhancements to support remote radiologist workflow. It includes a distributed reading and reporting solution that provides radiologists with more efficient and cost-effective access to features, functionality and reporting capabilities available in the hospital. An optional, unified communications module leverages existing or planned investments in IP telephony, and an energy-efficient architecture helps providers address the high costs associated with powering and cooling data storage centers. The new version is expected to be available by spring 2008, McKesson said.
